| Notes |
- The first record of Zachariah Wall, son of Robert, is the purchase sale of 300 acres of Land in "The Great Fork" of Rapahannock River in Culpeper County, VA. He is recorded from the Province of Maryland, this being in 1774. This record authenticates the family tradition or history, that he was originally from the eastern shore of Maryland, and that his wife Annie Everett, inherited property from her father, Richard Everett, and was engaged for some time in the household of Robert Wall, sewing or light household work. Zachariah Wall, in 1797, with his family (excepting William) and probably other friends, moved to Rockingham County, NC. In the vicinity of Madison, NC, where he accumulated much property, dying in the year 1816. All the above descendants, with the exception of William Wall, who married Ann Eliza Fewell, lived and died in North Carolina around the homes and in the neighborhood of their ancestors. James M. Wall, son of Zachariah (III), is also a wanderer from his people living in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Zachariah Wall I owned land between the two creeks west of Madison to Hairston's Ford, a distance of nine miles, and built his large, two-story house west of the creeks on the hill where Homer Groan's house now stands.
