    • Doris M. Stone, 83, of Windsor, Missouri, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Mo.

      She was born October, 20, 1925, in Mulberry, Kansas, the daughter of John Alfred Northington and Nora Alice (Yeokum) Northington. On July 29, 1950, at the Calhoun Christian Church, in Calhoun, Mo., she married Harold Eugene Stone, who survives of the home.

      Mrs. Stone worked and volunteered with the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 18 years. She was also very involved in the Windsor community serving the senior adults in various ways. She was a member of the Calhoun United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. The love for her children and grandchildren was the best part of her life. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, celebrating the holidays, and her many flowers.

      In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Donald D. Stone, Belton, Mo.; 3 daughters, Luanne M. Sanders and her husband, Don L., Windsor, Mo.; Virginia S. Maloney and her husband, Steve L., Columbia, Mo.; and Dorene L. Stone-Ward and her husband Timothy W., Charlotte, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Patrick J. Stone, Kevin J. Stone, Michael F. Stone, John R. Stone, Margie E. Stone, Tara D. Sanders, Davin L. Sanders, Daniel C. Maloney, Justin L. Maloney and Stephanie L. Koehler; 3 great-grandchildren, Zakary Maloney, Evelyn Maloney and Lyla Koehler; 2 sisters, Margaret Kerr, Shelby, Michigan; and Mardelle Womble, Windsor, Mo.; 2 brothers, Don Northington, Washington, Mo.; and Dean Northington, Windsor, Mo.; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Warrenburg and a brother, Harold Northington.

      Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Margie Briggs officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Friends may call Friday at the funeral home until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Calhoun United Methodist Church or the Windsor Senior Center, in care of the funeral home.
